SCSI - SCSI Peripheral Interface
The ECB SCSI board provides a standard SCSI host interface to the ECB format using the original NCR 5380 interface chip. While it was designed for connecting SCSI storage devices to the ECB bus, but there are very few SCSI-I peripherals still available. So, it is more a proof-of-concept for using external DMA on different processor boards.
The information below should be considered “Preliminary”.
Overview
The ECB SCSI board provides a standard SCSI bus interface to the ECB format using the original NCR 5380 interface chip. The board was developed primarily for testing DMA on the SBC-188 80C188-based processor board and the Mini-68K 68008-based processor board, but it should work with other boards. As noted, there are very few SCSI-I storage peripherals still available, but a likely candidate would be the SCSI2SD, a SCSI drive emulator which creates SCSI LUNs using a mini-SD card.
