EDM-80 a Z80 project board

Sorry if this is a bit off-subject ... I could use a hand with this
Z80 based SBC - I've been trying for over 6 Months to gather
additional information.

It is called an EDM-80. Initially my take on it is an "Educational
Development Module" used for courses in Computer Science classes.

It is a Z80 based SBC w/several edge connectors supporting the Bus &
Parallel Ports and has a full 25 pin RS-232 connector on board.

CURRENTLY it does not work properly - I am working on a "TEST BIOS"
for it. So far I can get it to access the ports and spit out some
useful data to prove the board is OK.

I can only assume the original BIOS it came with has a problem. The
serial port just keeps spitting out garbage like it was stuck in a
loop. My logic analyzer seems to support my initial findings.

It is powered by a single +5vdc @ 800-1200ma (a single 7805 regulator
won't work long)

I would like to acquire more information on this particular SBC and
any ADD-ON components and software (ROM code) it might have originally
come with.

So far ... the information I have developed from the hardware
documentation and the EPROM state it might have a video controller
board and runs as a smart terminal (for a lack of better words). The
ports are addressed similar to a CP/M style system.

Anyone hear of this unit?

Thanks for your consideration,
Ed
